Visitors who enter via Highway 154 on the west side of Mullinville, Kansas have no choice but to notice a bunch of "kinetic art." That's what the builder of the hundreds of tacky signs lining his field calls them, anyway.
Visiting drivers or passersby slow down, stop, take pictures and fuss over these "sculptures." They finally made a pull-off so slowing and stopping cars wouldn't cause an accident!
The majority of the locals, however, detest the signs and view the hodge-podge as a bunch of junk on top of poles that clutter up their pretty little town. The "artist" of the sculptures, M.T. Liggett, is much better known by locals for his mischeif and potitical (or anti-political, you might call them) views, wich he freely shares through his art and his mouth! An eye witness told me the story of the day he got kicked out of the local cafe for mouthing off, only to drive round and round the cafe in his little truck giving people the bird!
