Rouxdolph (not a misspelling) must have an infrared nose and Papa Noel must have GPS and an air boat, because sure as the world is round, there were presents from Santa under the tree Christmas morning! We've lived in a different house every year now for five years and Santa has found each one of those houses. The kids must be on the nice list! ;)
Travis and I delight in watching the kids find the treasures in their stockings and open the gifts "Santa" picked out especially for them. Santa must have brought the perfect presents this year, because they're all still being played with!
Madalynn got a Hannah Montana (stage name) doll and a Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana as herself) doll from Santa. She got some really cute clothes, a Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus CD, a clock radio/CD player and pink boots!
Justis got a Spiderman football and the game Battleship from Santa. He also got clothes and shoes, as well as a closet organizer.
Dawson got a spider man football and a Batman action figure with a motorcyle. He got clothes and shoes and shares the closet organizer with his brother.
Jillian got new clothes from Santa as well as a little dolly. Jillian was the first to recognize which stocking was hers because of the dolly sticking out of the top. She picked up the dolly and insisted on using a pajama shirt (also in her stocking) as a blanket. Uncle Seth ever-so-patiently helped Jillian wrap and re wrap her baby in that silly pajama shirt. Thank you, Seth!
We grown-ups got to open presents on Christmas morning as well. The most personal present given had to be the "Jingle Bells Shotgun Shells" Christmas lights Seth and Rebecca gave Travis. Real shotgun shells (empty) were fashioned into strings of Christmas lights! The gift that drew the most underwhelming response was the trendy sweater gifted to Scott by Travis and I. The brown, blue and orange striped sweater was given to him to wear in the family picture we took the next morning. Not only was Scott unsure whether the sweater was his style, we made him wear it for family pictures. Scott looked very nice in the sweater, but we know compliments might not be enough incentive for him to wear it ever again. Thanks for being a good sport, Scott! ;) All of the other presents were fantastic as well. My favorite is the PF Chang gift certificate Travis gave Holly and I. Can anyone say date night?!
Tickfaw State Park was our Christmas afternoon destination for fun. We ALL played with the kids on the playground equipment, took a swamp walk, then hit the parking lot to play with the boys' new Spiderman footballs.
Scott, Travis, Seth and Holly ended the evening with a round of Spades then hit the sack. All of the rest of us had already turned in for the night.
We had a blessed Christmas!
