Mele Kalikimaka is the way to say "Merry Christmas" the Hawaiian way, according to the song. The song reminds me of two things, #1 warm weather, and, #2 the Griswold family from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. We can identify with both warm Christmas season weather AND the Griswold family! :)
We took our annual Christmas tree buying trip last Friday. A real tree is put up and decorated at our house yearly, come hell or high water. Thank goodness we don't have an Aunt Edna who'll bring her cat to fry the tree!
The six of us went to Lowe's, bought a tree, and tied it to the top of the minivan in true redneck form. Travis revved up the chainsaw to cut a fresh end on the trunk and we set it up so it would be ready to decorate Saturday evening.
